The pedestrian and cyclists' bridge in Cochem is the longest prestressed granite bridge in the world which can be negotiated by heavy traffic. The 40 cm thick bridge can take up to 30 t and was prestressed with a force corresponding to about 1,000 t. The weight of the bridge is only 40 t. The prestressed granite bridge is part of the Moselle cycle route between Trier and Koblenz.
