Where architecture meets flowing water, a place where people come together is created. It’s no surprise really because water is the origin of all life and has had an almost magnetic attraction since time immemorial. Kusser has been making fountain systems of all sizes for decades. There are almost no limits to its creativity: From fountain fields and water walls to runnels, there are many forms and variations with which water can shape an area. The result of cooperation between consulting engineers, architects and artists are some quite out of the ordinary places.
A 90 m long runnel with integral benches and planted walls give the Ramble Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas its distinctive look.
Benefits
Short installation times
The modular approach using solid granite ensures quick installation, creating a structure that will last for generations. In contrast to concrete, the system does not require any curing time, cast-in connections, or subsequent sealing. It can be used immediately.
Pre-plumbed and tested
Every basin is assembled at the factory, filled with water and leak-tested before shipping. The system is delivered with all pipework pre-installed and only needs to be connected on site.
Temperature tolerant
Well planned joints allow for damage-free thermal expansion and contraction, preventing any material stresses and strains. Hence the structure remains stable, reliable and permanently leak-tight.
Resistant to frost & chemicals
All natural stone used is frost and chemical-resistant, obviating the need for any artificial corrosion protection. This is an important prerequisite if structures are to stand the test of time, especially in public fountains, where chlorine is frequently used to prevent microbial contamination.
Large variety of materials
If desired, a combination with other natural stones from anywhere in the world is possible. In addition, metal inlays, engraved or sandblasted graphics, and other individualised designs are possible.
Granite modular approach
Our granite modular approach ensures watertightness without coatings or additional corrosion protection, a feature unique in the industry. The prefabricated granite elements are bonded and sealed with mechanically tensioned O-ring joints. This allows almost unlimited design flexibility while fulfilling the most important promise: water and frost will not damage the fountain, even after decades.

Planning and engineering
It is easy to draw daring ideas on paper - but we make them feasible. Our engineers become involved right from the concept phase, carefully dovetailing the number of nozzles, spray heights, water patterns, lighting, and rhythm with the architecture. Feasibility studies, 3D models, and hydraulic calculations give an early insight into how effects and budget can be aligned. The result is tailor-made fountain landscapes that perfectly balance technology and aesthetics.
COMPLETE TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE
Pump technology
Accurately dimensioned for uniform water patterns and efficient operation. We work with professional partners; each project has its own requirements and is individually planned.
Filtration
Multi-stage filter systems keep the water permanently clear. Mechanical filtration stages remove particles, suspended solids, and organic matter, ensuring the circulating water is continuously purified.
Water treatment
Automatic dosing prevents algae and microbial contamination. Sensors monitor water quality (e.g. pH) and precisely adjust the dosing of treatment additives. This reduces consumption and ensures safe, hygienic operation in public spaces.
Controls
Smart controls enable central control of fountain dynamics, lighting, and maintenance intervals. Programs can be saved on a project-by-project basis and accessed via a tablet or control panel. This ensures that operations, effects, and service remain plannable and transparent, even with complex systems.
Production, testing & installation
From raw stone block to commissioning, Kusser takes care of it all: we saw, mill, and joint the granite in our own factory, install the fountain completely and test every detail. Then we dismantle it into transport-optimised modules, provide just-in-time delivery, and installation carried out by our own team. This minimises construction time, interfaces with other trades, and surprises on the construction site.
